One winter day, a Farmer found a Snake frozen stiff by the cold. He had pity on the poor snake so he picked it up andplaced it under his coat andnear his chest in order to warm it up.
The Snake was revived by the warmth, and soon regained consciousness. [Having regained consciousness] and resuming its natural instincts (true to it's nature), it bit its benefactor, inflicting upon him a fatal wound.
As he drew his last breath [the literally translation is "at death's door"], he said to those standing around: Damn it (I deserve to die)! I took pity on a vile creature, so I deserve what I got. You all should learn from my fate not to take pity on a scoundrel!

The crow looked at the fox and still didn't answer. The fox wagged his tail. "Your feathers are so beautiful, colorful, more beautiful than other birds, and your voice is so good. Can you sing me a song?" The crow was very proud and began to sing. But as soon as he opened his mouth, the meat fell off, and the fox ran away with the meat in his mouth.

Another Fox, happening to pass that way, came and asked him what the matter was; and, on learning the state of the case, said, “Well, my friend, I see nothing for it but for you to stay where you are till you shrink to your former size; you’ll get out then easily enough.”
